SWERVES, CURVES AND MASSES
Below is a diagram from Robert Byrne's book.
Mike Sigel Straight Stroke Exercise - 10 min - Line your cue stick up directly over the line where the cushion meets the rail. Do some practice strokes looking straight down making sure that your cue stays directly over the line without wavering side to side.
Spot Shot Draw Back Drill - 20 min - Place OB on spot with BIH. Leave CB where it is and keep resetting up an OB on the spot. Pocket as many in a row as possible. Your goal is at least 10 in a row.
Angel Drill Shooting Off the Rail - 15 min - Throw all 15 balls out and take BIH frozen to the rail for every shot.
Break Shot - 10 min - Goal is to make the CB stay in the center of the table after the break AND make sure you follow through with your cue ending on the table going on the same downward plane.
Take a Break - 10 min
Long Shots - 20 min - Set up shots at least 4 diamonds away and mark with stickers. Place an 8 ball to get shape on. These shots should be challenging but reasonable. Use whatever necessary English needed. Study each shot.
Threes Exercise (as seen below) - 15 min
8-Ball Equal Offense - 20 min - Break a rack of 8-ball and see how many you can run without a miss. Do 10 frames and record your results.
