THROWING BALLS - Throw your frozen ballz
I. Direction Induced Throw
English Induced Throw
Quiz Question #1:
Set Up: Set up these 4 balls as shown. The 12 and the 9 are aimed to miss at the right corner of the corner pocket. How can you hit this cluster so that the 12 is thrown in the pocket?
Quiz Question #2:
Set Up: If you want to throw the 13 ball in and stop the CB behind the 12, would you use direction induced throw or english induced throw?
Solution: Aim straight ahead and use right english with enough low to stop the ball. The right acts as a gear and puts left on the 12 and then the 12 throws the 13 to the right into the pocket.
Quiz Question #3:
Set Up: The OB and CB are frozen and lined up straight into the side. How can you pocket this ball?
Solution: Use both english AND direction induced throw so that they cancel each other out. Shoot in the direction from right to left which will throw the OB to the left and also use left english which will throw the ball to the right to beautifully pocket the OB in the side.
Angel Drill with Outside - 10 min - Do the Angel Drill and use outside english on every shot. Make sure to pick an exact spot that you want the CB to go to.
Angel Drill with Pause - 10 min - Do the Angel Drill with your main focus being pausing when you pull back your cue right before you strike the ball.
No Rail Drill - 20 min - Spread out all the balls about 8-10" apart and at least 1 diamond away from the rails. Take BIH for the first shot and run as many balls in a row as you can without every letting the CB hit a rail. If you miss, scratch or hit a rail, start over. Record your highest run.
Elevated Drill - 10 min - Shoot shots when other OB's are in the way of your bridge hand and you have to shoot over them. Shoot shots with various angles and distances. Remember to only pull your cue back about an inch at the most and stay still and be super smooth - this will help minimize the CB curving.
Bridge Shots - 10 min - Shoot shots using the mechanical bridge. Use various kinds of english and force.
Take a Break - 10 min
8's Drill - Throw out one suit and the 8-ball. Take BIH and run them out. Work backwards and forwards to help choose a Key Ball (KB) and a KB to the KB.
Break Shot with Follow Through - 10 min - Focus on using a very long follow through with your cue ending ON the table and your bridge hand staying glued to the rail. The longer you keep your cue in contact with the CB, the more force you will impart.
Offensive 9-Ball Ghost Drill - 20 min - Play the Ghost 10 racks of 9-ball and record your results. The best possible score is 200 (1 point per OB and 2 points for the 9-ball). If you combo the 9 early you only get credit for the balls that were sunk. If you miss or scratch, rack the next rack because your opponent, "The Ghost" never misses. Since he... I mean she ... never misses, there is no point in playing safe.
